Manuel Fluck - My Private Life (some of it...)

During all my studies my "office" was my balcony. I spend as much time as possible outdoors. I love the nature and I love the fresh air. When not working I run around somewhere in the green; depending on where I am, this is either in the mountains, at the sea or if I can't leave the city, it's at least on the grass - Ultimate Frisbee.

I love the mountains: the clean air, the quietness, the adventures. In summer I go climbing or simply hiking; In winter I take my snowboard with me, walk up to a summit and surf down.

Ultimate Frisbee is a great sport, it is always huge fun. I really like my home team, the Tiefseetaucher. But ultimate is also nice because it connects you to so many players all over the world. It's like a big family connected by the "spirit of the game" and wherever you go: you alway find someone to play ultimate with and you always find friends.
The Sea is a rather new friend for me. I grew  up close to the mountains and have never been much to the sea. But since my time in Auckland I love the sea, too. I started sailing and kite surfing which I both enjoy very much. I think the sea is the mountain's sister. She offers the same kind of freedom and the same kind of adventure which we find whenever we emerse in nature.

I also love getting around and seeing new places - I travel a lot. Because the experience is much deeper when one really lives in a foreign place (rather than just travels through it) I try to combine traveling with work/ university as much as possible. Here are some impressions of the bigger journeys I did:
